Sleep Apnea & Snoring Patient
Overview For Health Professionals

Patient care through professional integration…

Snoring and sleep apnea are common, serious, and easily treated… in many different ways.  As you know, there are multiple specialties involved in the treatment of sleep disordered breathing.  Our approach is to integrate services in complimentary layers united by one goal – unparalleled patient care.

How do we achieve this goal?

Step One: Screening

A detailed health history, sleep questionnaire, epworth score, and noctural pulse oximetry are conducted and then reviewed by a Board Certified Sleep Specialist.

Step Two: Therapy

Based on the severity of sleep disordered breathing, appropriate sleep apnea and snoring therapy options are discussed with the patient.  A collaborative decision is made by the patient and the health care provider and typically one of the following treatment paths is approached:

  • Mandibular Advancement
  • CPAP (Many physicians will have a trusted CPAP Provider they work with – we facilitate communication and cooperation with these providers.)  Some patients will trial CPAP and find they cannot accomodate to the device prior to proceeding with a Mandibular Advanacement device.

Step Three: Follow-up

Understanding the important relationship between education and follow-up and long-term sleep apnea and snoring therapy adherence, we provide lasting support and detailed reporting to referring physicians.
