The Silencer^®

A custom fit oral appliance or snoring mouthpiece invented by Dr. Halstrom and used by snoring and sleep apnea patients worldwide.  Dr. Halstrom designed this non-invasive and reversible snoring treatment with the understanding that successful therapy is impossible without patient comfort.

Oral Appliance Therapy

Oral appliances (like The Silencer^®) are well researched and recognized in both medical and dental communities as a safe and effective snoring and sleep apnea treatment.  One goal of oral appliance therapy is to provide a less cumbersome solution for snoring and mild to moderate sleep apnea.  Oral appliances can also be used in combination with CPAP to improve comfort for severe cases.

The Silencer features a precision milled titanium attachment called the Halstrom Hinge.  This patented design ensures excellence in comfort, adjustment, and durability.  The body of the appliance is fabricated in a dual injection process providing a hard bite surface, and a permanently elastic soft inner liner.

How does it work?

The Silencer^® is worn over the teeth – like a mouth guard – and works by gently repositioning the lower jaw forward during sleep.  This realignment creates more space in the airway, stabilizes the lower jaw and tongue, and increases muscle tone in the throat.
